The term “patient engagement” has been defined as the process of building the capacity of patients, families, carers, as well as health care providers, to facilitate and support the active involvement of patients in their own care, in order to enhance safety, quality and people-centeredness of health care service delivery (WHO, 2016)
Our interest group seeks to explore and support initiatives to improve the way in which patients are involved in the lifecycle of pharmaceutical development and actively take part in decisions, strategies and relevant policies that shape healthcare access, quality and delivery.
Our approach is best practice sharing through a combination of workshops, webinars, articles, surveys and online panel discussions that run throughout the year.
