The PM Society is pleased to announce that Sumira Riaz will join Christine Buggle as Co-Chair of the Patient Engagement Interest Group in 2024.

Sumira has been a Chartered Health Psychologist & Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for the last 15 years and working as a Patient Engagement Lead at OPEN Health for the last 7 years. Her interest and passion has focused on behavioural science and how attribute modelling using health psychology models can further enhance our knowledge of how to support patients/caregivers more effectively- personalising support based on patient preferences vs a top-down approach.

Sumira joined the Patient Engagement Interest Group (PEIG) five years ago and has been a valued group member.

We spoke to Sumira on why she decided to join Christine to co-chair this Interest Group and how she feels about taking on this position: “I’ve always been excited about making a difference small or big; engaging with the PEIG has offered a brilliant platform to collaborate with likeminded colleagues across the industry. In a co-chairing capacity I can support Christine to drive the strategic vision in this space and elevate the great work being done in patient engagement”.
