Driving Progress in Patient Engagement Through Insight, Connection and Collaboration

The PM Society Patient Engagement Interest Group (PEIG) is strengthening its mission for 2026 with a renewed focus on driving meaningful, actionable change across patient engagement. Our work continues to be grounded in improving patient experiences and outcomes, and this year we are placing particular emphasis on three core objectives:

  • Delivering thought‑leading content and events that challenge assumptions and inspire progress
  • Creating an accessible, safe space for all stakeholders to connect, share and learn from one another
  • Partnering with industry leaders and groups to amplify great resources, tools and examples from across the sector

As patient engagement continues to evolve, our aim is to support the industry in embedding approaches that are not only compliant and consistent, but genuinely impactful for the communities we serve. By bringing together diverse perspectives, from industry, patient groups, consultancies and beyond, we hope to surface what works, highlight emerging best practice, and strengthen the partnerships that underpin meaningful engagement.

A key part of this work is our ongoing Best Practice Sharing Initiative. Through this initiative, we are gathering real‑world examples of effective patient engagement and support programmes, capturing lessons learned, and translating them into practical guidance that can help elevate standards across the sector.

We’d value your contribution

We’d value your contribution

If you have best practice examples, insights or experiences that could support this initiative, we would be delighted to hear from you. We will work with you to understand the context, discuss confidentiality needs, and agree the best way to capture your contribution. Please contact us.

Together, we can help shape guidance that strengthens our industry and, ultimately, improves the experiences of patients and their families.

Sincerely,

Sumira Riaz

On behalf of the PM Society Patient Engagement Interest Group
