Independent Medical Education
Delivered at ESH 2026, this innovative independent medical education programme transformed traditional congress learning into an immersive, personalised experience exploring the evolving understanding of hypertension and aldosterone dysregulation.
A 12-metre immersive digital wall was integrated with AI-driven personalised learning, live expert-led sessions and enduring educational resources. The programme engaged more than 1,700 clinicians, generated measurable improvements in knowledge and confidence, and encouraged meaningful changes in clinical practice – demonstrating a scalable new model for impactful congress-based education.

Judges’ comments
The centrepiece of this exhibition – a 12-metre LED wall – certainly had the wow factor and immediately captured attention! Judges really liked how the team had created a genuinely blended educational experience rather than relying on a single format. A mix of immersive storytelling, AI-supported learning, live faculty discussion and on-demand resources gave delegates multiple ways to engage with the content, and the educational outcomes were well demonstrated through improvements in knowledge and confidence.
Beyond the impressive production, judges also liked the personalised app, the multilingual live faculty sessions and the breadth of supporting resources, which showed this programme was carefully planned and thoughtfully executed. They said the educational journey felt cohesive – appreciating the use of storytelling, AI and expert discussion to enhance the learning experience rather than letting the technology take centre stage. That said, tactical implementation was very strong, innovative and clearly engaging, with great use of tech and touchpoints. Overall, a very engaging and well-executed educational experience, deserving of the Gold award.

This MedShr IME program on adult RSV, supported by GSK, was developed in response to important unmet patient needs in the diagnosis and management of RSV in adults, particularly those with comorbidities who are at high risk of poor outcomes and would benefit from RSV vaccination.
HCP educational gaps were addressed using eight MedShr Educational Posts and Clinical Cases, and one Learning Module, that reached more than 374,000 HCPs globally with 1.4 million touchpoints at a 40% conversion rate. The education had impact at Moore’s Level 4 and 5, increasing knowledge and improving clinical practice for better patient care.

Designed to bridge the gap between complex wound care science and daily clinical practice, the initiative delivers unbiased, highly engaging, and evidence-based learning experiences for healthcare professionals. By combining interactive digital modules with intuitive visual storytelling, Microworld empowers HCPs to deepen their clinical understanding and improve patient outcomes autonomously.
Its objective-driven curriculum, robust engagement metrics and proven real-world educational impact exemplify the core purpose of Independent Medical Education: driving clinical confidence through accessible, high-calibre, independent learning.
