The SPARKS initiative was created to provide career opportunities to young hungry creatives from diverse backgrounds. The initiative was borne of a fundamental belief that creativity can and should come from everywhere and that, to spark the very best ideas, nurturing diversity of thinking is essential.
The inaugural SPARKS initiative consisted of a placement for two young creatives who worked across internal and client projects to learn how to harness and refine their raw talent.
Their final project “The Cherry Garden” lives on in our offices and takes pride of place in both their portfolios.

The judges liked the practical simplicity of this initiative, and the fact that it led to two people from very different backgrounds getting a foothold into their first creative role. This was an initiative to be proud of!

At VCCP, DE&I is fundamental to the fabric of our company.
To make our stance on this clear and accessible to the whole business, we decided to reframe how we talk about DE&I internally, using language that everyone can get behind: Different, Exciting and Interesting.
To bring this to life, we created a launch film in collaboration with a spoken word poet, and brought the essence of that film into every aspect of our operations — from recruitment and retention strategies through to brief creation and partner selection, with plans to launch even more new initiatives in 2023.
