Emma Sutcliffe. Emma is a graduate of Medical Biochemistry from the University of Leicester Medical School, U.K. and has worked in the development of medicines in the pharmaceuticals sector since 1995. A global leader in patient engagement and one of the most cited experts about patient and caregiver insights, Emma also lectures at the University of Cambridge, U.K. regarding implementation of patient needs in clinical research. With multiple tenures in several Pharma companies, Emma oversees integration of the patient voice and creation of long-term patient support programmes that address both health inequity and social determinants of health to improve outcomes for patients.

Jalilah Gibson, PEN Partnership. A collaborative & inspirational CX/Digital leader with a proven track record in delivering commercial excellence and digital transformation across Global and Local markets in pharma.
Jalilah uses her  experience across digital transformation, pharma marketing leadership, and agile methodology to create, and enable delivery of, commercial strategies into digital initiatives that help the evolution of health science organisations into truly customer + patient-centric enterprises.

  • Leading on the development of, and delivering Customer Experience principles that translate into global marketing and channel strategies which drover higher customer engagements in the digital space

Mark Doyle, A Life in a Day. Mark Doyle is co-founder of The Method, a British company offering innovative and immersive learning and development programmes to effect behaviour change, and creator of its award-winning A Life in a Day experience. Using his extensive background in the creative arts as inspiration, and driven by the belief that healthcare works best when it centres around patients’ needs, Mark designed A Life in a Day to support the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries in developing patient-centric strategies for more impactful engagement. 

So far, A Life in a Day has been delivered to clients in more than 55 countries across the world. Mark is a regular presence at conferences where his expertise in developing thought-provoking patient insight experiences combined with his background as a professional actor make him an energising and sought-after speaker.

Rachel Addy, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Rachel brings over 20 years of experience working within the NHS in a wide ranging set of roles across front-line and corporate within the Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust. Trained as a renal specialist Registered Nurse, she has worked clinically from bedside nurse to Head of Nursing, running multiple wards with large teams and multi-disciplinary responsibilities across staffing, recruitment, financial management and critically, patient safety and staff care.  She is currently clinical co- lead for the ‘Building Your Future Hospitals’ program, leading on the design, and ensuring the voice of nurses, midwives and allied health professionals is heard within the New Hospitals Program. This is a large and complex project, requiring collaboration with the national team, other Trusts and vendor partners.

Rachel is passionate about patient advocacy, nurse retention and all things digital, and particularly in bringing all 3 of these things together to build a better future for healthcare within the NHS at all levels. 

Nisa Khan, CSL Behring. Nisa is a pharmacist by background, having worked in the NHS for 10 years, leading clinical trial services and teams in NHS Trusts in England, before moving into Medical Affairs in Industry. Currently working as Regional Medical Affairs Manager, Nisa leads medical projects which are patient-focused and look at improving the standard of care for patients with bleeding disorders. Her experiences include developing patient-reported outcome measures and forming consensus papers.

Nisa is also a Trustee for Together Dementia Support and Healthwatch Salford where she combines her strategic skills with her passion for improving the lived experience of people living with dementia, and ensuring the voice of service users are heard.   

Jack Burton Graphite Digital. Jack is a Clinical UX Researcher and Health Psychologist. He specialises in using qualitative and quantitative research methods to study how patients and clinicians behave in context, and the experiences that they have with digital health products & services.

Using a multidisciplinary approach rooted in psychology and behavioural science, Jack’s work uncover insights to inform evidence-based and person-centred digital designs which ultimately improve patient outcomes and provide confidence to stakeholders.

Jack currently heads up the UX Research function at Graphite Digital, a specialist digital design and research agency operating in the healthtech and pharmaceutical sectors. He is especially interested in Digital Therapeutics, Behaviour Change Design, and Health Communication, and passionate about using digital to improve access to quality healthcare.

Claire Mather, DEBRA. Claire brings over 20 years of experience of working both for the NHS as a qualified nurse and Ward Sister and for the third sector as Director of Nursing in a leading hospice. Following a master’s in Business Administration, she took on the role of a Director at DEBRA and is passionate about helping to make a difference, today, for people living with EB.

A significant focus of the role has been to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide creative solutions to the challenges faced in the delivery of best practices and to lead a number of commercial projects partnering with organisations in the private and public sector to both improve the range of goods and services on offer to those living with EB and raise income for the charity.

Dr Sagair Hussain, DEBRA. Sagair brings over 20 years of experience both as a Medical Researcher from world-leading research institutions and as Director of Research in leading dermatology charity British Association of Dermatologists, managing multi-million-pound research programmes involving academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies and NHS Trusts.

Whilst working at the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), he delivered their most successful research initiative; psoriasis patient registry (BADBIR). It is now the world’s largest psoriasis specific patient register involving approximately 20,000 patients, 10 pharmaceutical companies and 165 dermatology centres throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Through BADBIR, he raised the profile of psoriasis amongst scientists and clinical researchers. He has a PhD from University College London and a Master’s in Business Administration from Imperial College.

Chris Clarke, DEBRA. Chris is a fellow of the chartered institute of marketing (FCIM) with over 20 years’ experience in senior marketing and communication roles across a variety of industry sectors including consumer durables and fast-moving consumer goods, healthcare, medical devices, construction, and housing. Chris is passionate about insight-based marketing and communication and has a proven track record of devising and implementing highly targeted strategies that connect with the target audience, influence behavioural change, and drive revenue.
