Our Judges

Our panels of judges include creative experts, joined by pharma industry professionals (brand and comms managers), agency leaders, film makers, and representatives from charities and patient organisations. Judges are rotated year on year and new judges added via a nomination and vetting process.

Each year a Head Judge and Deputy Head Judge are chosen who are part of the Awards Team, focussed on ensuring good judging practice is followed.  The Head Judge may be involved in the judging or facilitation of specific categories. The Head Judge may choose the Best in Show, from the Gold Winners.  In circumstances where there is a conflict, the Deputy Head Judge will step in to cover the roles of the Head Judge.

With grateful thanks to all our judges for their time.

Head Judge

Katie Dean

Katie Dean

Katie Dean is an SVP Creative Director at 21Grams, known for her eclectic background and boundary-pushing work. Starting her career as a cancer research scientist, Katie’s journey has spanned fashion, science, and over decade in advertising, giving her a unique perspective on creativity and innovation.

Her career has taken her across the globe, working in major cities like New York, London, and Sydney. Along the way, Katie has earned nearly every major accolade in the industry and has become a familiar face on the judging circuit for top creative awards.

Katie is passionate about transforming women’s health through groundbreaking projects like The Cure Cup—which turns menstrual blood into life-saving research—and Good Vibes, an at-home cervical screening kit ingeniously paired with a vibrator.

Katie’s work is contributing to the evolution of healthcare advertising, driven by the hope of leaving a meaningful and lasting legacy in the industry.

I’m honoured to step into the role of head judge for this year’s PM Awards. These awards aren’t just about celebrating creativity—they’re about spotlighting the ideas that push boundaries, challenge the norm, and leave a lasting mark. We’re not here to be ‘good for healthcare’; we’re here to be outstanding, full stop. I’m excited to discover work that redefines what’s possible in healthcare storytelling—work that doesn’t just inform people about health issues but actively drives change, impacts lives, and reshapes the future of care. With the extraordinary talent out there, I know this year’s entries will surprise, inspire, and set new standards. I can’t wait to dive in and witness the brilliance coming our way!
