OUR VENUE
The Brewery has a big focus on Sustainability. Here’s what they do.
- To reduce energy
They use energy from renewable sources along with energy saving actions, such as LED light bulbs and adjusting the air con and heating
- To reduce water use
They’ve installed efficient, modern washrooms and water meters
- To reduce waste
The Brewery recycles as much as possible. Anything they can’t is converted into energy so that nothing is sent to landfill. They have installed an ORCA food digester that uses an aerobic composting process to liquefy food waste on-site, safely discharging the liquid through the existing wastewater system. Leftover food is shared with the staff and the Single Homeless Project charity.
- To limit single-use plastic
They have replaced single-use plastic with a more sustainable alternative
- To cut food miles
Chefs select foods from suppliers as close to the Brewery as possible.
Fruit and vegetables are supplied by Nature’s Choice, which provides fully traceable, British-grown produce and is Red Tractor accredited – as are the UK meat suppliers, IMS of Smithfield. Our fish supplier, Marrfish, reduces food miles by sourcing directly from its own fishing fleet and processing in-house.
