Ensuring optimal outcomes and the best value possible for all stakeholders

The Industry Agency Relationships Interest Group has been working on a guide to procurement in pharma marketing and communications for over a year. The decision to create a guide was made based on ongoing industry conversations surrounding the relationships between pharmaceutical companies and their agencies, as well as a procurement survey the PM Society released in 2023 that showed a unanimous need for new thinking. You can view some of the survey results in our previous article here.

This guide explains what a winning procurement strategy looks like, drawn from industry opinions and feedback. Through insights and actionable strategies, it sets out to navigate the evolving landscape, empowering both parties to forge more meaningful and efficient collaborations.

This is a first draft of the procurement guide. It is filled with information we feel all stakeholders will find valuable, but we plan to collect further insights and feedback from our members to create a second version and continue to advance standards in our industry.
