For decades, the PM Awards have been a fixture in the pharma and healthcare communications calendar – a place to celebrate the very best of our industry.
But there’s a perception we’d like to challenge: that the PM Awards are just for agencies.
The best work in our industry rarely belongs to one organisation. Behind every great campaign, programme or experience is a group of people bringing different expertise, perspectives and challenges to the table. Pharma teams are at the heart of that process - shaping the strategy, navigating complexity, championing the audience and making the work happen.
So this year, we’re creating more space to recognise them.
Our new Cross-Functional Excellence award celebrates pharma and life sciences teams who have achieved something exceptional by working across functions. Whether it’s marketing, medical, market access, commercial, patient engagement, digital, analytics, regulatory or beyond, this category is about what can happen when silos come down and people unite around a common purpose.
Because patients don’t experience our organisational structures: they experience one company, one journey. And increasingly, the most meaningful challenges in pharma can only be solved by bringing different disciplines together.
We also continue to celebrate the individuals who challenge convention through Pharma Marketing Pioneer. This award recognises people within pharma or life sciences who are driving meaningful change - introducing new ways of working, championing ambitious ideas and helping to move pharmaceutical marketing forward.
Together, these categories recognise something that deserves much more attention: the people inside pharma who are making great things happen.
And entering isn’t simply about winning a trophy. It’s about giving your teams the opportunity to tell their story, share what they’ve learned, celebrate the contribution they’ve made and put their work alongside some of the most innovative thinking in our industry.
So don’t leave it to your agency to enter the work. Find out more and view the categories here.
Look around your organisation. Who challenged the status quo? Who brought five functions together? Who turned a difficult brief into something genuinely different? Who made the impossible happen?
They might just have a PM Award waiting for them.
