They participate in a huge range of health services from dispensing medications to delivering vaccinations to assisting minor ailments. Together, these services add up to a total of approximately 1.6 million visits to a pharmacy per day in the UK.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the workloads of pharmacists have surged as many clinical assessment responsibilities have been referred to them from GP surgeries in order for these surgeries to adopt telehealth practices.
