Target 1: Primary Care Advertisement

Single print or digital advertisements for GPs/Practice Nurses

The Target award will include only ads designed for UK use (with or without additional overseas use). Ads aimed exclusively at overseas doctors will be judged for the craft award only, must be provided in the English language and be known to have appeared in their target market(s).

Both print and digital versions of an advertisement can be entered but will count as two entries, for which two fees must be paid.

Pharma company communications in any medium that can be internal (own staff) or external (to the industry or general public)

Award to acknowledge true innovation in communications to healthcare professionals

Description: Communications to HCPs in any medium where the creative concept or execution (whether print or digital or multichannel) is innovative or novel within the context of its use with the target audience.

Craft 9: Advertisement Campaign

Series of three or more print or digital advertisements for any healthcare professional

Enter this category

Description: a series of 3 or more different advertisements for the same pharmaceutical product or service aimed at any healthcare professional which can be in print, digital or a combination of media.

NB. The same advertisement executed both in print and digital forms will count as only 1 of the 3 minimum number of advertisements required.
One of the advertisements may have appeared up to 3 months prior to 1 October 2018.

Ad campaigns aimed exclusively to overseas doctors will be judged for the craft award only, they must be provided in the English language and be known to have appeared in their target market(s).

Description: entries must be promotional/branded i.e., not medical education, and will be judged on creativity.
Sales aids aimed exclusively at overseas doctors must be provided in the English language and be known to have appeared in their target market(s).

Digital entries to this category cannot be entered into Category 8 (Interactive Communications).
The same sales aid can be entered in both print and digital forms but will count as two entries for which two fees must be paid.

Educational tools (both non promotional and promotional medical education) for any healthcare professional group

Craft 12: Mixed Media Campaign

Mixed media campaigns targeted at any Healthcare Professional

Enter this category

Description: an integrated mixed media campaign targeted at one or more of the following: GPs, pharmacists, hospital doctors and nurses which can include press ads, mailings, sales aids, leave pieces etc in print or digital forms.

The majority of components within this category must be aimed at the HCPs themselves. Up to one third of the campaign components can have appeared as early as 1 July 2018. Campaigns designed for overseas markets only must be supplied in English language version.

The same item entered in both print and digital forms will count as only 1 of the 3 minimum items required to qualify.

How fresh insight leads to original creative expression.

This category seeks to reward the best use of insight in driving creative excellence. Successful entries are likely to be those that are able to clearly show how a fresh and incisive audience insight was used to create a distinctive single minded proposition and so inspire original creativity.
