Virtual Valve is a novel, 360-degree, virtual reality educational experience developed by emotive for Edwards Lifesciences. Virtual Valve was created with integrated advanced gaming and animation software, using the principles of gamification. Virtual Valve was specifically designed to educate interventional cardiologists on the suitability of TAVI in a wider patient population. By combining the latest technology and expert knowledge, a fully immersive, multisensory experience was delivered that allowed detailed exploration of aortic stenosis in patients’ beating hearts.
It shows the data in an attractive and intuitive way, making the process of learning about the risks and benefits of a drug a natural and enjoyable experience.
TIGGER was built iteratively, with contributions from ViiV Healthcare, PharmiWeb Solutions and Infogr8, who took the initial concepts from ViiV, analysed the data and turned them into designs that were a work of art. The highly interactive data makes HCPs want to play and learn more.
Biogen wanted a compelling congress stand experience for healthcare professionals to better understand the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis and the mode of action of one of its treatments, but keeping the patient right at the heart of this information. In what is believed to be a world first, the educational content was projected on and around a real person, live on stand, using HD projection-mapping technology. Launched at the Association of British Neurologists’ Congress, the visually stunning installation attracted a 340% increase in footfall to the Biogen stand compared with 2014, and generated meaningful conversations with healthcare professionals about MS.
Gilead’s presence at EACS challenged the current paradigm of HIV management. People are living longer with HIV, meaning that goals of therapy now need to include preservation of long-term health as well as virological suppression. This new approach to ART was encapsulated in Gilead’s ‘HIV is: Going Beyond Undetectable’ campaign. DDB Remedy brought the HIV story to life through series of engaging initiatives, including interactive touchscreens, videos, sculptures and questionnaires to gauge delegates’ opinions. Follow-up research confirmed the popularity of the booth, and a key outcome of the campaign: a 15% increase in physicians considering unmet need and long-term health.
Novartis challenged us to reinvent its annual Galvus GOLD promotional, live meetings, with a solution that could cater for all global markets and time zones, differences in local indications/brand names and upskill affiliates in participation from zero baseline knowledge, whilst requiring minimal investment and retaining the personality of a live meeting. So we took the event online, with a series of Adobe Connect webinars. 35 countries across 5 continents participated, with 570 logins reaching over 2,000 HCPs. With 1.5 hours including Q&A and >100 questions it surpassed all expectations and exceeded the peer-peer learning opportunities of a typical standalone event.
